Lahore's First Institute to Offer the D-KEFS Assessment

If you've ever felt like your child's struggles go beyond just "grades" — if they get distracted quickly, can only hold onto one instruction at a time, forget what they've just learned, or simply can't keep their things (or thoughts) organized — you're not alone, and more importantly, there's a way to actually understand why.

We're proud to share that IMPACT is now the only institute in Lahore offering the D-KEFS assessment — the Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System.

What Is D-KEFS?

D-KEFS is a standardized, internationally recognized assessment tool that evaluates a child's (or adult's) executive functioning skills — the mental processes that allow us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks. Specifically, it looks at:

  • Attention
  • Planning
  • Problem-solving
  • Impulse control
  • Emotional regulation

Executive function is often called the brain's "management system." When it doesn't work smoothly, everything from homework to friendships can start to feel harder than it should.

Why Does This Matter?

Executive functioning challenges show up differently in every child, but some common signs parents tell us about include:

  • Gets distracted quickly
  • Grades are not improving, despite effort
  • Can only remember one instruction at a time
  • Forgets what they've already learned
  • Struggles to keep things — schoolwork, routines, thoughts — organized

Sound familiar? These aren't signs of a child "not trying hard enough." Often, they're signs of an underlying executive functioning gap that a proper assessment can identify and address.

How Does D-KEFS Help?

At IMPACT, we work with children and adults facing learning difficulties, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, focus and concentration issues, and emotional dysregulation. The D-KEFS assessment allows us to move beyond guesswork and provide individualized clinical assessments that map out a clear, practical path forward.

The assessment includes a series of well-researched subtests, such as:

  • D-KEFS Trail Making Test
  • D-KEFS Verbal Fluency Test
  • D-KEFS Design Fluency Test
  • D-KEFS Color-Word Interference Test
  • D-KEFS Sorting Test
  • D-KEFS Twenty Questions Test
  • D-KEFS Word Context Test
  • D-KEFS Tower Test
  • D-KEFS Proverb Test

Each subtest targets a different facet of executive functioning — from flexibility of thinking and concept formation to problem-solving, creativity, impulse control, and inhibition — giving our clinical team a well-rounded picture of how your child's mind works best.

Tapping Into Potential

Every child has potential waiting to be understood in the right way. With D-KEFS, IMPACT is able to offer families in Lahore a level of clinical insight that wasn't locally available before — helping guide better management strategies at home, in the classroom, and beyond.

If any of the signs above sound familiar, we'd love to talk to you about how a D-KEFS assessment could help.
