IMPACT Special Education Centre was honored to host Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, President of the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA), for an engaging and thought-provoking session — a pre-conference highlight leading up to the 16th International Conference of PPA (17–18 April 2026).

The session brought together clinical insight and community-focused vision, centering on one powerful theme: the role young psychologists will play in shaping the future of mental health in Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique's visit to IMPACT wasn't just ceremonial — it was a genuine exchange of ideas between an institution that works directly with children and families every day, and a national body shaping the direction of psychological practice across the country. Together, we explored how clinical expertise and grassroots community care can move forward hand in hand.

A major focus of the conversation was how to actively support and invest in young psychologists entering the field — encouraging innovation, leadership, and confidence as they step into roles that will define the next generation of mental health care in Pakistan.

The session also opened the door to new collaborative ventures between PPA and IMPACT, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening mental health infrastructure — from clinical training to public awareness — across the country.

Perhaps most importantly, the discussion highlighted the urgent need for community-facing initiatives, including upcoming workshops focused on parental support for child anxiety and development — bringing clinical knowledge directly to the families who need it most.
At IMPACT, we believe that meaningful change in mental health doesn't happen in isolation — it happens when institutions, professionals, and communities work together. Our partnership with PPA reflects exactly that: a shared vision to bridge rigorous clinical expertise with real, accessible community care.

We're proud to be part of this journey toward a brighter mental health landscape for Pakistan, and we look forward to the collaborations ahead — starting with the 16th International Conference of PPA this April.
